Sweat Equity

That horrible sound title means just what it says. We have to start working now, painting the foundation tomorrow, painting the hand built clerestory windows and once the siding goes up, painting that...

BUT, on the plus side, it means things are CRACKING!

Here's a cynic's view of sweat equity...

Pat has a clear understanding of we can and cannot do. Painting is entirely within our realm of workability. The wiring is not..

  1. Years ago I remember there was an episode of This Old House in which at the beginning there was a lot of talk about "sweat equity" from the owners. Somewhere down the line, in one of the later episodes about this particular house, I remember Bob Vila saying--and looking sort of pissy as he said it--something about the owners not being able to come up with quite as much sweat equity as they had at first planned.
I have not one illusion about my sweat equity reservoir--or should I say puddle. Kudos to you and Pat. BB

  2. Yes, we are dreading this, because it is painting..I have already told Pat that I will take the low road he takes the high road, because my ladder days are behind me.

And, actually he can do wiring pretty well, for some reason, with plumbing he has problems..
